Tim Cosgrove wins the Co-Star table football final

The 2019 Co-Star table football contest sponsored by Terry’s Chocolate Orange was won by Tim Cosgrove in an intense and pulsating grand final.

 Matt Hancock and Tim Cosgrove contested the final for the forth year in a row qualifying as group winners.

 Tim was representing Leeds United and Matt was playing on behalf off their very bitter rivals Manchester United.

 The final was keenly contested with both players on top of their games, Matt was dominant in midfield but Tim had the edge in defence and attack.

 Tim commented ” Contests between myself and Matt are always incredibily close and very keenly contested and I’m delighted to retain the trophy and getting one over on Man united makes it even sweeter! Hopefully this is a good omen for Leeds United too as they chase promotion back to the premier league”.

A hugely dissapointed Matt refused to comment.

 The final league was:

Matt Hancock claims the tital in fiercely contested Co-Star Table Football tournament

The final of the anual Co-Star table football tournament was once again contested by Matt Hancock representing Manchester United and Tim Cosgrove representing Leeds United one of footballs most fiercest rivalries.


Security was tight due to previous instances of crowd trouble that have marred previous games by the bitter rivals and the Police requested an early kick-off as a precaution.


The battle of the roses clash was fiercely contested over five very close legs in an electric atmosphere. The final game in the series was a cracker and the air was filled with nervous tension causing players from both teams to make mistakes. Hancock edged it by one goal to claim his third title.IMG_0054

Matt Hancock Wins The Co-Star Table Football Championship


Matt Hancock won the Co-Star table football championship in a fiercely contested final against bitter rival Tim Cosgrove.

Manchester United deafeat Leeds United

Matt was representing Manchester United and Tim represented Leeds United one of the games most legendary rivalaries. The game kicked off at 12pm on Police advise to prevent any potential crowd trouble.

Italian style defending gave Hancock the edge.

An outstanding defensive  display reminiscent of the great Italian defender Paolo Maldini gave Hancock the edge. He exposed Cosgrove’s weaknesses in defence and was ruthless in taking his chances in attack. The battle in midfield was epic with no quarter given or taken it was like going back in time to the feisty battles between Roy Keane and David Batty a  feist for the connoisseur of full blooded competitive football.


Tim Cosgrove commented;

“The games between myself and Hancock are allways ultra competitive and although i’m bitterley disappointed to loose I must give credit to Matt who played the better football on the day and was the deserved champion”.
