Co-Star the Harrogate based global supplier to the ICT industry have launched a range of adhesive lined heat-shrink butt splice connectors that contain fluxed solder to ensure a secure connection in seconds. The connectors are designed for installing after market Telematics and mobile communications equipment into vehicles and marine equipment.
The heat-shrink solder terminals provide a quick and simple cable joint without having to use any crimping tools. They just require a low temperature heat source that can be provided by using a hot-air gun, blow-torch or lighter. Once heat is applied the solder melts and makes the connection with the cable and the adhesive inside the terminal makes a secure watertight seal.
The shrink ratio is 2:1 and the sleeves of the terminals are transparent to allow the engineer to inspect them once connected.
The heat-shrink connectors are available in three sizes:
