Car Connectivity Consortium announces MirrorLink initiative at MWC

.

The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) used the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to announce the MirrorLink Developer Fast Track, a new programme that makes it as easy as possible for developers to achieve MirrorLink-certification for their apps.

The CCC also announced that Glympse, Coyote and Parkopedia are the first developers to have been admitted to the programme. Ultimately the MirrorLink Developer Fast Track will bring more MirrorLink-enabled apps to the world faster – and will enrich value for the MirrorLink-enabled cars and smartphones on the market today.

The MirrorLink Developer Fast Track offers developer partners the following benefits:

  • Direct, enhanced access to technical support – to make adapting an app to MirrorLink as easy as possible.
  • Inclusion in CCC marketing and communications programs, including press, Web, social media and conferences
  • Promotion of the app among CCC members, including newsletters, member workshops, etc.
  • Potential reduction in test-lab costs

MirrorLink is an industry standard for car-smartphone connectivity and is designed for maximum interoperability between a wide range of smartphones and cars. It’s also the only OS- and OEM-agnostic standard for car-smartphone connectivity. Ultimately MirrorLink gives consumers freedom of choice and peace of mind when it comes to using their favorite devices in their favorite cars.
