Co-Star the Harrogate based ICT company who specialise in connecting the latest 5G technologies are launching a range of 2.92mm K connectors for 5G applications up to 40GHz.
The 2.92mm (K) Connector’s interface is similar to that of SMA connectors, but utilizes an air dielectric and engineering-plastics support bead for higher frequency than PC3.5mm and SMA connectors. It is a precision connector designed to perform mode free to 40GHz. In response to the advent of the fifth generation of wireless communication protocols, the 2.92 mm (K) series of products are also suitable for millimeter wave applications.
This design increases the outer-conductor contact area at the interface for more reliable electrical performance and higher mechanical strength than PC3.5mm and SMA connectors.
The outer conductor measures 2.92mm with a strong outer body wall compared to dielectric loaded interfaces of comparable size.
2.92mm connectors are mechanically compatible with SMA and 3.5mm connectors, but the male center pin is shortened to allow outer conductor engagement before the center contacts mate, preventing damage to the female contact pins.
Co-Star are developing 2.92mm male and female crimp connectors and a range of adaptors including male to male and male to female.
Tim Cosgrove of Co-Star commented:
“It’s important that Co-Star leads the way when it comes to connecting the latest technologies such as 5G. The range of 2.92mm connectors and adaptors that we have developed are designed to seamlessly connected antennas to the latest 5G connected devices and wireless router equipment and maximise the performance of the equipment”.

The 2018 Co-Star table football championship sponsored by Terry’s Chocolate Orange was wone by Tim Cosgrove in an intense and pulsating contest.
Tim topped the table on goal difference with Matt finishing runner up which meant the grand final was again contested by the two bitter rivals. Tim representing Leeds United and Matt Manchester United. The previous three finals were all won by Matt but Tim edged this years tournament by two games to one.
Tim commented; “It’s great to finally get my hands on the trophy after three previous defeats and even better to beat Matt who was representing Manchester United. I will think about him when i’m tucking in to my chocolate orange prize over Chrismas! Maybe this is a good omen for Leeds United too who currently top the Championship table and are looking to return to the Premier League and again compete with Manchester United for real”.
Co-Star the Harrogate based supplier to the ICT industry have launched a great solution for mounting display units for mobile date equipment, telematics hands-free equipment and Antennas for 4G and GPS applications.
The Gorilla 3044101 double sided tape has ultra strong adhesive properties which deliver high performace in tough demanding environments including: Commercial Vehicles and retail display units.
The industrial strength double-sided-tape grips to both smooth and rough surfices and can be used indoors and outdoors delivering an instant and weatherproof bond.
The crystal clear low profile design means there are no unsightly glue or tape lines which makes it ideal for professional installations into vehicles
To maximise the performance of the double-sided-tape apply it vertically on to the equipment being mounted allowing even distribution of the weight of the product. The surfices must be flat, clean, dry and free of dirt and oil. Use 102mm of tape per 0.45kg of weight.
Part No: ITG.101 Price: £4.00 plus vat. per roll (1.52 meters).
The final of the anual Co-Star table football tournament was once again contested by Matt Hancock representing Manchester United and Tim Cosgrove representing Leeds United one of footballs most fiercest rivalries.
Security was tight due to previous instances of crowd trouble that have marred previous games by the bitter rivals and the Police requested an early kick-off as a precaution.
The battle of the roses clash was fiercely contested over five very close legs in an electric atmosphere. The final game in the series was a cracker and the air was filled with nervous tension causing players from both teams to make mistakes. Hancock edged it by one goal to claim his third title.
Congratulations to Matt and Tim you need to put extra hours training in for next years tournament!
Co-Star the Harrogate based Global supplier to the ICT industry have added the latest Micro 3 fuse holder to their range of installation products for after market Telematics and Mobile Communications Equipment.
The latest vehicles are fitted with an increasing range of on-board connected devices which puts demands on wiring systems installed in confined spaces. The Micro 3 add-a-circuit fuse holder has been designed with this in mind housing two fuse elements in a width of just 15mm allowing more circuits to be added in smaller space. The three spade terminals have a width of 2.8mm and an overall width of 13mm.
The Micro 3 fuse holder can be used with the following fuse ratings:
FAKRA connectors (FAKRA = FAchKReis Automobil, a german automobile working group) are
coaxial high-frequency connectors that meet the requirements of DIN20860 and USCAR 17 &18.
Their application lies in the transmission of a variety of signals, such as shortwave, mobile telephony, GPS, or telematics signals.
